Asian Investment Immersion Programme 2010

Dec 2010

The credit crisis of 2008 saw a major upheaval of the global financial landscape. Today, we see a shift of power to Asia. Within the Asian region, Singapore and Hong Kong have established themselves as the epicentres of finance. The Asian Investment Immersion Programme serves to broaden and complement our SMU experience by providing both academic and business opportunities in Hong Kong. Over the course of six days, from 16th to 21st December 2010, participants were involved in firm visits, along with an academic & cultural exchange with Hong Kong University (HKU). Visits to the offices of Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse gave participants insights into the financial landscape of Hong Kong, and we obtained a better perspective of our career choices as we networked with many key personnel from various departments in these top notch banks. The experience was complemented by visits to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Monetary Authority, where we better understood the regulations and the financial history of Hong Kong that led to what it is today. What better way to spend the weekends with the students of HKU, where we had sessions to understand pertinent issues affecting the Hong Kong economy, and we also had exchanges on Investment Club practices. Apart from the main agenda, the food, shopping and scenery were also highlights of each participant’s experience.

Alumni Networking Night

Oct 2010

This is a special night when E.y.E members from past and present come together for a night of fun and food! In this annual event, we invite seniors who have rich experiences in the finance industry, to share and network with our current members. It is an important event as we hope to keep in contact with the E.y.E alumni through this annual event. Besides that, the current members would also be able to learn from the alumnis' working experiences and practical application of financial knowledge.
